Hervé is a retired Brigadier General of the French National Gendarmerie. He writes that, since his schooling at the Special Military Academy of Saint Cyr created by Napoleon in 1802, he has been fascinated by the Great army and its uniforms. He started to paint miniatures and to develop his interest in uniformology around 2010. He works on Napoleonic era subjects (mainly 54mm and 35mm) using oil paints. He enjoys dealing with scenes telling a story. So after solo figures and open dioramas, a box-diorama is for him the supreme evolution of his hobby. He is 62 years old and lives in Paris. He is married to Deborah and they have three lovely boys.
