French modeler Richard Poisson was born in Paris but has been living for several years near Grenoble, “not far from the ski slopes,” as he says. He was happily married to Catherine Césario, a World Master painter who died in 2017. Together, and now on his own, he has been attending modeling shows throughout Europe and the U.S. since 1989; renowned for his smiling presence, he also wrote for many years for the French hobby magazines Figurines and Soldats. “I like figures of all sizes, whether they are fantastic or historical,” he says, and he has created several box dioramas.

Laurana (2000)

Per Richard: Based on an illustration by Clyde Caldwell from Dungeons & Dragons; the figure is a conversion of the Egyptian 75mm from Phoenix Models, the hydra is a conversion of two dragons from Grenadier Miniatures and they have optical fiber in their eyes, and all of the columns and walls of the temple are made with terracotta.
