Joan recently retired from her career as a cartographer for the United States Department of Agriculture in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is married to fellow miniature artist and this site’s co-editor Barry Biediger. She studied Art at the University of Utah with an emphasis in drawing and painting, and enjoys a number of other creative pursuits, including paper quilling, watercolor painting, and woodcut printing. She is the host of the excellent podcast Her Shrink Ray Eye, which you can listen to here or on the podcast platform of your choice.
