The figure is a 1/35 Alpine machine gunner. painted in acrylics. I used a 4 x5 inch picture frame and the box was made from thin hobby plywood. The top was left open as I wanted to use a blue acetate film to create a cool snow blue effect. Inspired by Greg DiFranco, I created a snowy background painted in water colors on artists cotton press paper. I was also inspired by the Civil War mini box, ‘All Quiet Along the Potomac,’ where Pete Culos used a cool blue acetate backdrop to create a great night effect. The trees and evergreen branches are from Scenic Factory and snow effects from AK.”
