T.g. Hamilton writes: “This was a tremendous challenge, and took me almost four months to complete. I have always wanted to do a diorama based on Alphonse de Neuville's painting entitled ‘Les Dernieres Cartouche’ (‘The Last Cartridge’). It depicts an action during the Franco-Prussian War where the French defenders of Bazeilles fought to the last bullet during the battle for Sedan. All of the figures were scratchbuilt except for the heads, hands, and feet. In addition, the entire room was scratchbuilt from foam board, bits of wood and a LOT of putty. The LED lights are courtesy of Woodland Scenics and are so awesome; no soldering needed, and all lights are adjustable. I just need to get myself a picture frame for the front and an appropriate title plate.”
