Matt McKeeby tells us that he is a teacher and artist living in the wilds of upstate New York, where he and his wife have restored a 1790s home.  Early modeling efforts were inspired by his grandfather’s service as a flight surgeon in WW II, and the birthday gift of the Monogram B-24 kit that included Shepard Paine’s diorama booklet.  That leaflet led to other kits, and Paine's How to Build Dioramas book, which has inspired so many builders.  Living in southeastern Pennsylvania in the mid ‘80s, he found a shop run by Bob Santos, who introduced him to Historex kits and other modelers in the Harrisburg Area Miniature Society.  After the typical hiatus away from models during his teens and twenties, he attended an MFCA show in the early 2000s and began taking the craft more seriously.   Currently working in many subjects and scales, he continues to chase the elusive goal of creating distinctive and interesting  work.
